Hackney Food Bank

Hackney Foodbank helps people who need it most in our local borough. This Black Friday we donated £1 for every order made in our sale.

Since the winter of 2023 demand for the foodbank has increased by 70%. They're currently giving out around 5400 meals a week. This story is the same up and down the UK.

Thanks to you geting involved in things like our Foodbank Donation Jar or the Black Friday Sale, we've given more than 100,000 jars of peanut butter to the foodbank.

B Corp

We have been a proudly certified B Corp since 2019. We recertified in 2022, improving our Impact score by nearly 20%, something that needs to be done every three years to retain the respected ‘B Corp’ title.

Being a B Corp means that we have met the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility and are actively pursuing better business practices across all areas of Pip & Nut.

In 2023, Pip joined the Board of B Lab UK the non-profit network behind the B Corp movement.

Our B Corp Journey

Carbon

We're a proud carbon neutral company. This means we have offset 100% of our carbon emissions across our full value chain (Scopes 1-3) since 2021.

As part of this, we are supporting a fantastic project in Indonesia called ‘The Sumatra Merang Peatland Project’. Follow the link below to see more about how they are restoring and saving vital, biodiverse peatland areas from being farmed for palm oil.

However, we know that offsetting alone is not enough, which is why we are committed to becoming Net Zero by 2040.

Team

Like our products, we want our team to be filled with positive energy, and therefore creating an inclusive and supportive work environment is top priority.

Alongside moving to a new ‘Eco-Nest’, in the last year alone we have continued to invest in our team, by introducing a company-wide options scheme, enhanced family friendly policies, increased annual leave and a sustainable pension option.

Packaging

Our products' packaging forms a key part of our company’s footprint. As a brand that is committed to prioritising the planet, our team is constantly working on ways to improve the impact of our packaging.

For example, in 2021 we transititioned to glass jars, which are made from a minimum of 50% recycled glass, are more widely recyclable and saw us save over 147 metric tonnes of plastic in 2021 alone.

More recently, we have rolled out 100% recycled cardboard product trays and have been working behind the scenes to improve the at-home recyclability of our nut butter cup packaging. Make sure you’re following our impact Instagram for more updates on these projects!

Our Packaging Focus

Human Rights

We might talk about squirrels a lot, but it's the humans that make Pip & Nut.

We have some pretty good ones at The Nest, so it's important we treat them, and anyone around us, with respect.

Find out how how we do this by reading our Human Rights Policy.
